Pakistan's Ambassador to Russia said that negotiations are underway between Moscow and Islamabad regarding the launch of direct air service.

Direct flights may be established between Russia and Pakistan, Pakistan's Ambassador to Moscow, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi said, RIA Novosti reported.

In the autumn of 2025, Russia's Ministry of Transport indicated plans between Moscow and Islamabad to develop mutual tourist traffic, with direct flights potentially being launched in the future.

"We are in contact on this issue. Negotiations have begun. When there is more contact between people, between businesses, and more projects, then there will be direct flights," Tirmizi said.

Russian citizens need an electronic visa to visit Pakistan.
