Ankara and Tbilisi sign health care pact

Türkiye and Georgia signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of health care.

The memorandum was signed during an official visit to Georgia by Turkish health minister Kemal Memisoglu.

According to a statement from Georgia’s Health Ministry, Memisoglu met with his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Sarjveladze in Tbilisi.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze also met with Memisoglu and his delegation in Tbilisi.

The meeting addressed strategic cooperation between Turkey and Georgia and their bilateral relations in the field of health care.

"During the meeting, it was emphasized that the close cooperation established between the two countries in the health sector has yielded tangible and meaningful results, contributing to the provision of quality health services and improving financial access to medicines for citizens," the statement reads.

Kobakhidze said the pact signed today would help further develop cooperation between Türkiye and Georgia.
