Tourism growth in Dagestan is unique, Ilya Umansky says

Dagestan is one of the regions with the fastest growing tourism in Russia, demonstrating double-digit growth, Ilya Umansky, President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, told Vestnik Kavkaza.

Dagestan continues to be among the leading tourist destinations in Russia, and double-digit growth in tourist flow is expected this year, Ilya Umansky, President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, told Vestnik Kavkaza.

He described the surge in tourism development in Dagestan as unique, noting that tourist flow to the republic has been growing every year, demonstrating double-digit rate.

"This growth continues, primarily due to the unique natural environment and people's desire to see the beauty of the mountains and the Sulak Canyon, experience the gastronomy and the famous Caucasian hospitality, which has already become a hallmark among our tourists,”
