Trump says Maduro and his wife captured

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States has carried captured Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro and his wife.

In a post on Truth Social, the U.S. leader said Maduro and his wife had been “captured and flown out of the country” following the operation, which he said was conducted “in conjunction with U.S. law enforcement”.

"The U.S. has successfully carried out a large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country. This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement. Details to follow," Trump said.

He has also claimed that the U.S. has carried out a “large-scale strike” against Venezuela and its leader Nicolas Maduro.

CBS News reported that  Maduro had been captured by members of the elite army unit Delta Force on Saturday morning.
