Ambassador Kopyrkin: Russia supports all peace efforts between Azerbaijan and Armenia

Russian Ambassador to Armenia Kopyrkin affirmed Moscow's endorsement of any steps leading to sustainable peace between Baku and Yerevan, emphasizing Russia's interest in regional stability and prosperity of both countries.

The diplomat reiterated the importance of the agreements reached in Washington, which resulted in the initialing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia on August 8, 2025. However, it is not yet clear how this document will be implemented, Kopyrkin noted.

Kopyrkin refrained from commenting on the proposed "Trump route" peace framework, explaining the plan requires further development before substantive assessment.

These remarks were made during the ambassador's interview with Sputnik Armenia news agency.
