Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi will not be able to speak at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The decision to cancel the Iranian minister's speech was made by the forum's management.
According to the official programme, the minister was set to speak on the afternoon of January 20, but his name has since been removed from the speaker list on the forum’s website.
The Iranian Foreign Minister will not be attending Davos, the organizers reported.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry noted that while Araghchi had received an invitation last autumn, the government's presence at the forum is not advisable due to the casualties sustained during recent protests in Iran.
