According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty took effect on October 2. The document was originally signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Moscow.

"This event marks an important milestone in the history of Russian-Iranian relations, which have reached a qualitatively new level of comprehensive strategic partnership",

the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.

The treaty establishes long-term cooperation guidelines across all key areas, including enhanced coordination in international organizations, regional security, and addressing common challenges within the emerging multipolar world order.

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that the agreement reflects the strategic choice made by the highest political leadership of Russia and Iran in favor of further strengthening friendly and good-neighborly relations in all areas, which will serve the fundamental interests of the peoples of Russia and Iran.
