Dagestan's Ministry of Culture confirmed composer Shirvani Chalayev had been awarded the Order of Honor of the Republic of Dagestan, recognizing Chalayev's significant cultural development impact and extensive artistic career.
The composer additionally received commemorative gifts from residents of his native Khosrekh village.
Shirvani Chalayev ranks among Dagestan's most influential composers, having produced ballets, symphonies, and operas while authoring the republic's 2003-2016 national anthem.
Chalayev's rich creative legacy also includes vocal compositions featuring poetry by Pushkin, Yesenin, Gamzatov, and other literary figures.
