An earthquake was recorded in Azerbaijan's Shamakhi region, 9 km south of the Pirgulu station, about 120 km from Baku.
According to the Republican Seismological Survey Center of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), the tremor occurred at 3:07 a.m. local time.
The magnitude 3 earthquake had an epicenter at a depth of 8 km. No tremors were felt by the population.
