According to the Republican Seismological Survey Center of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), an earthquake occurred in the Caspian Sea on Wednesday night.
The seismic event had a magnitude of 3.0, with tremors recorded at 3:34 AM local time. The hypocenter was located at a depth of 62 km.
Since the beginning of the year, 148 earthquakes have occurred in the Caspian Sea, more than 100 of which registered magnitudes of 3.0 or 4.0, as reported by the website Volcanodiscovery.
