Earthquake shakes eastern Georgia

An earthquake was recorded in eastern Georgia on March 11, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Center.

The tremor had a magnitude of 3.1 and struck at 4:49 PM local time (3:49 PM Moscow time), approximately two kilometres from the village of Shilda in the Kakheti region.

The hypocenter was located at a depth of 11 kilometres.

No injuries or material damage resulting from the earthquake have been reported.
