The Central Election Commission of Georgia reported that no opposition candidates have been registered in 26 districts for the October 4, 2025, elections. Registered candidates include representatives from Georgian Dream, Strong Georgia - Lelo, and Gakharia for Georgia.
Tbilisi has the highest number of registered candidates, with nine individuals competing for the mayoral position.
Let us remind you that the municipal elections in Georgia on October 4, 2025, are unprecedented in terms of the number of candidates being elected. Citizens will vote not only for mayors but also for deputies of local representative bodies (sakrebulos). Depending on district size, between 10 and 50 representatives may be elected to each sakrebulo.
Preliminary results are expected to be announced on October 5, with final results to be confirmed within one month.
