Erdoğan calls on international community to recognize Palestine

The Turkish leader called for the recognition of Palestine. He emphasized the need for the international community to do so as quickly as possible.

During his address to the UN General Assembly, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke of the need to recognize a Palestinian state.

"I call on all countries that have not yet recognized a Palestinian state to do so as quickly as possible,”

– the Turkish President said.

He added that he was disappointed that Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas was not present at the UN Assembly.
