European Commission to impose sanctions against Hamas

The EU has decided to sanction Hamas. The European Commission will impose restrictions on members of the Palestinian movement's Politburo.

The College of the European Commission will hold a meeting on sanctions against Hamas. The EU body intends to impose restrictions on 10 high-ranking members of the radical movement, the Head of European Diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, informed.

According to Kallas, Brussels' sanctions target Hamas members located both in Gaza and the West Bank. The measures include asset freezes and entry bans into the EU.

The sanctions will be finalized after approval by the EU Council.
