First multimodal cargo service launched from China to Azerbaijan

The first multimodal freight service to Azerbaijan commenced from China's Kashgar city, with the route crossing Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, according to Uztemiryulcontainer company.

Through Chinese territory, containers will be delivered to Kashgar by train, then from the Chinese city to Osh by road. From Kyrgyzstan, cargo will travel again by rail to a Turkmen port for final sea transport to Baku.

This new route strengthens trade and logistics cooperation among participating nations under China's Belt and Road Initiative framework.
