Germany supports restrictions on arms supplies to Israel, but opposes other EU sanctions.
Berlin has refused to join the sanctions against Israel that the EU intends to impose. According to the Tagesschau portal, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul does not believe that the restrictions will significantly affect Tel Aviv's decision to resolve the Gaza issue militarily.
"German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said that the proposed measures are unlikely to affect the course of military action,”

Berlin opposed Brussels' measures aimed at suspending Israel's participation in Horizon Europe, a program for funding scientific research.
