Foreign ministers and senior officials from the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union held their 29th Joint Council and Ministerial Meeting in Kuwait.

In their joint statement, participants accused Iran of regional escalation through its ballistic missile and drone activities.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has condemned the “seditionist” interference by certain European countries in the Persian Gulf.

He said that some European Union member states are imposing their political agendas on the entire bloc.

“The European Union’s interference in the affairs of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will not assist Europe in resolving its own internal disputes; rather, it reveals its hypocritical and seditious policies toward Iran and the wider Persian Gulf region,” Baqaei said.
