Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that Türkiye expects the signing of a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the first half of 2026.

According to Fidan, Türkiye will promptly normalize ties with Armenia after the final peace between Baku and Yerevan to be signed.

"As soon as the agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan is finally concluded, we will quickly normalize relations with Armenia," Hakan Fidan said.

The Turkish FM lauded Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for bold risks in pursuing peace with Azerbaijan.

In August, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, with the mediation of U.S. President Donald Trump, signed a joint declaration emphasizing the need to continue efforts toward the signing of the peace agreement.
