Kazakhstan-Iran trade surges by more than 40%

Kazakh Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a meeting in Astana, noting that trade between Iran and Kazakhstan has already surged by 40%.

"Astana and Tehran maintain a constructive political dialogue, including at the governmental level. Bilateral agreements are being actively implemented, and inter-parliamentary relations are strengthening," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

The Kazakh leader noted the recent surge in trade and economic cooperation, pointing out that mutual trade had risen by 40% in the first ten months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. 

Pezeshkian stressed that Tehran and Astana possess vast potential to enhance cooperation in political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields, as well as in the realm of security.
