According to presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, Russia and Azerbaijan continued to expand their bilateral trade and economic cooperation even during difficult times in bilateral relations.
Peskov emphasized that Moscow and Baku had maintained contact throughout this period, including through their administrations.
"Contacts, in fact, were never interrupted. To be fair, it must be said that, despite the fact that the period wasn't the best in the history of our bilateral relations, the volume of our trade and economic cooperation continued to grow",
the Kremlin spokesman stated.
The announcement follows the October 10 meeting between Russian and Azerbaijani presidents in Dushanbe.
