Several sections of highways have been closed to traffic after heavy rainfall in Dagestan, the State Public Institution Dagestanavtodor reported.

Landslides have halted traffic in the Sergokalinsky District on the Burdeki-Kanasiragi-Tsizgari road and in the Charodinsky District on the Tsurib-Archib road. In the Rutulsky District, a rockfall blocked the Rutul-Luchek-Dzhinykh road at kilometer 29.

The affected sections are expected to reopen by the end of the day after clearance operations.

Flooding was reported along the Madzhalis-Varsit-Shilansha highway after the Ulluchai River overflowed its banks and washed away a temporary bridge. Restoration work will begin once water levels recede.
