Macron to visit Egypt in support of Gaza agreement

Emmanuel Macron will visit Egypt in support of the peace agreement between Hamas and Israel.

French President Emmanuel Macron will travel to Egypt on Monday. The head of state's visit will coincide with the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. The French leader intends to express his support for the peace process with his presence.

The visit is intended to demonstrate Paris's commitment to further steps toward a peace settlement, the Elysee Palace informs.

Earlier, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his desire to visit the Gaza Strip. Today, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff visited the Palestinian enclave.
