Georgia could soon experience significant drug shortages. The European GMP certificate requirement will apply to both distributors and local manufacturers.

"This isn't a problem for European manufacturers. The difficulties mainly concern third countries like India and China, which account for nearly 80% of global supplies,"

Levan Gogiberidze, an industry association representative, stated.

Acvording to Gogiberidze, most non-European pharmaceutical producers lack European GMP certification.

Despite ongoing discussions, negotiations with the Georgian Ministry of Health have not yet yielded any results.
