Moscow, Cairo discuss situation in the Middle East

Diplomats from Moscow and Cairo discussed events in the Middle East, as well as arms control issues.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov met with Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Hamdy Shaaban. The two sides discussed developments in the Middle East and a number of other issues, the diplomatic ministry's press service reported.

"Ensuring global and regional stability, with a focus on the current situation in the Middle East, arms control, and non-proliferation, were discussed in detail,”

– the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
