Azerbaijan has expressed readiness to allow the transit of Russian goods to Armenia, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk said.
"Two days ago, the Azerbaijani side confirmed to us the possibility of using Azerbaijan's railways for the transit of Russian goods through Azerbaijan's territory to Armenia," Overchuk said.
According to the deputy PM, in this regard, they have very interesting developments.
He noted that the Russian Railways and its regional counterparts are currently working on organizing the transit of Russian goods to Armenia via Azerbaijan.
"Currently, Russian Railways, together with colleagues in the region, are addressing issues on how to organize these shipments. At the same time, corresponding instructions have been given through the Ministry of Agriculture to develop this new logistics route," Overchuk said.
On October 21, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev announced the lifting of all restrictions on cargo transit to Armenia via Azerbaijan.
