Palestine applies for BRICS membership

The Palestinian Authority has submitted an application to join BRICS as a member state, Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Abdel Hafiz Nofal announced. While the alliance considers the request, Palestine will continue participating in BRICS meetings as a guest.

"We submitted an application, but, as you know, Palestine has certain conditions. I believe Palestine will participate in the group as a guest until the conditions allow it to become a full member. We have not yet received a response", 

Abdel Hafiz Nofal said.

The Palestinian Ambassador to Russia made this announcement in an interview with RIA Novosti.
