Putin and Pezeshkian hold pre-New Year's phone conversation

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian held a phone conversation today, the Kremlin website reported.

"During a phone conversation with Vladimir Putin, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian condemned the large-scale drone attack orchestrated by the Kiev regime on the Russian presidential residence in the Novgorod region",

the Kremlin reported.

The two leaders also discussed enhancing Russian-Iranian cooperation in various areas, including energy and transport infrastructure, as well as the situation regarding Iran's nuclear program.

Pezeshkian also extended his congratulations for the upcoming New Year, while Putin conveyed his best wishes to the Iranian people for the recent national holiday of Shab-e Chelleh.
