Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to the Chinese authorities who decided to introduce a visa-free regime for Russians.

At a meeting with Li Hongzhong, a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, the President of Russia emphasized that Beijing's decision to abolish visas for Russian citizens is a very significant event.

"We simply had a lot of questions with the Chairman (Xi Jinping – the editor's note) and we somehow did not get to this topic. I would like to ask you to convey to him my best wishes and words of gratitude for this decision, because it is of an extraordinary nature, it concerns, without any exaggeration, hundreds of thousands, if not millions of our citizens",

Vladimir Putin said.

Let us remind you that the Russian leader has been on a visit to China for the past few days. He held a number of bilateral meetings, took part in the SCO summit and attended the anniversary military parade.
