UAE President receives Russian presidents envoy

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday met with Kirill Dmitriev, Russian special presidential envoy for foreign investment and economic cooperation, according to the UAE state news agency WAM.

During the meeting, Dmitriev conveyed greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin and expressed appreciation to the UAE for hosting U.S.-Russia-Ukraine trilateral talks aimed at promoting dialogue and diplomatic solutions to the Ukraine crisis.

The two sides discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the economy, investment and development.

They also exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest.

Earlier, Russia and Ukraine engaged directly during the talks that concluded Saturday in the UAE, which also involved the United States.
