The USA has added more than 50 companies, vessels, and individuals to its sanctions lists for ties to Iran, according to a statement from the US Treasury Department.
"The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is intensifying its efforts to target Iranian oil and petrochemical exports by imposing sanctions on more than 50 individuals, entities, and vessels",
the US Treasury Department reported.
The statement clarified that the designated networks facilitated the sale and supply of Iranian oil and liquefied petroleum gas.
Companies from China and the UAE were among those affected by the latest restrictions.
The move follows sanctions imposed last week on nearly 40 companies and individuals accused of supplying equipment and technology to Iran's military. The restrictions affected organizations and individuals from Iran, China, Türkiye, and other countries.
