Speaking at the online summit of the BRICS association on September 8, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the BRICS countries need to interact more actively with each other.
He stressed that closer cooperation would enable BRICS to cope with external challenges.
"We must play to our strengths, deepen practical cooperation and achieve more fruitful results in areas such as trade, finance, science and technology",
the Chinese leader said.
According to Xi Jinping, this will create a stronger foundation for BRICS, give a more powerful impetus and increase the association's influence, ultimately bringing more benefits to the people of all member states.
Xi Jinping also expressed confidence that BRICS would withstand the test of international turbulence and continue to develop sustainably and in the long term.
