Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is an outstanding personality and world-class politician. This was stated by the Chairman of the People's Council, leader of the Turkmen people and former President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. According to him, the Turkish leader is doing everything to ensure peace for all Muslim peoples.

In this regard, Berdimuhamedov proposed to nominate Erdoğan for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The leader of the Turkmen people also noted that in this way, Erdoğan could become the first among the heads of state and governments of the Islamic world who were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in the 21st century.

According to the Nobel Committee's rules, current heads of state, members of governments and national parliaments have the right to nominate candidates. The laureate of past years, professors in law and the humanities, members of international courts, current and former members of the Nobel Committee can also propose their candidate for the Peace Prize.
