In 2024, Türkiye intends to receive more Russian vacationers than in 2023, the Turkish Ambassador to Moscow Tanju Bilgic said.

Over the past year, the foreign tourist flow to Türkiye amounted to 60 million people, of which 6.3 million were Russians.

"We hope that this year the number of tourists will increase compared to last year",

the ambassador said.

He clarified that the Russian market was extremely important for the country and considered a priority.

"The priority for us is Russian tourists. They are important to us not only as tourists, we want to accept them as our neighbours. They are part of our huge family, that's how we understand them",

the ambassador said.

New direct flights will help increase the number of visitors from the Russian Federation. Today, work is underway to launch charters in new directions. Attention is being paid to small cities, Bilgic added.
