The Moscow-Almaty railway connection will be reestablished in 2025 after an extended suspension of operations.

The first train will depart from Almaty to Moscow on October 26, with the return train scheduled for October 30. Trains will operate every second day as part of existing routes: Train 7/8 from Almaty (8:00 PM) and Train 85/86 from Moscow (7:27 PM).

The journey will take three days and 14 hours. Ticket prices start at 23,500 rubles for reserved seating and 35,000 rubles for compartment class, with bookings now available.

It should be noted that trains have not operated between Moscow and Almaty since 2017.
