Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, participating in the Council of the European Union's Foreign Affairs Council, reported on discussions concerning the Armenia-EU partnership.

The talks covered the development of bilateral ties, transport connections in the South Caucasus region, and joint efforts to counter hybrid threats.

The Armenian FM shared details of the discussion, which included the regional agenda for the South Caucasus. The European foreign policy chiefs addressed the establishment of transport and economic links among countries in the region.

"We discussed these issues and would welcome the possible participation of the EU in infrastructure projects," Ararat Mirzoyan said.

The meeting also examined prospects for direct cooperation between Armenia and the European Union, including the potential for visa facilitation.

Mirzoyan further noted that the Council meeting's agenda covered a broad spectrum of issues, including the development of economic partnership and the enhancement of security mechanisms. The focus was on countering complex, multi-layered hostile campaigns - actions combining traditional military measures with disinformation, cyber-attacks, and diplomatic pressure.

The EU Council session was chaired by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas. Yerevan had previously appealed to her to help "prevent external interference" in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
