The EU has expanded its sanctions against Russia, with five individuals linked to the Russian military‑industrial complex now blacklisted, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas announced on August 7.

The new restrictions target individuals with ties to Russia's defence sector.

The EU imposed its 21st package of anti‑Russian sanctions in late July, targeting the financial, energy, and defence sectors.
