Despite sanctions, Iran managed to achieve a new oil production record, the highest in the past 7 years due to maintenance work and the commissioning of the Azadegan field.
Iran continues to break hydrocarbon production records despite Western sanctions. The country has set a 7-year oil production record, Iranian Oil Minister Hassan Paknejad says.
"Thanks to the measures taken at oil fields, we were able to achieve a record production level equivalent to one in 2018,”
- Hassan Paknejad said.
The increase in oil production was driven by drilling work at older fields, major maintenance work on the wells operated by oil companies, and the partial commissioning of the Azadegan field, the minister noted.
