Ball’s in Yerevan’s court, Zaharova says

All interested parties are ready to send a CSTO mission to Armenia, Maria Zakharova said. The final decision is up to Yerevan.

When exactly the CSTO mission will leave for Armenia depends on Yerevan – Moscow has already voiced its position, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

According to Maria Zakharova, the organization's peacekeeping mission in Armenia will help stabilize the situation in the South Caucasus. The diplomat noted that both Russia and its allies are ready to launch the mission, but recalled that such issues are decided by the CSTO Council.

Timing

According to the representative of the Foreign Ministry, the exact timing of the mission’s start depends on Yerevan. When the Armenian authorities are ready, the process of discussing the specific details of the future mission will resume.
