Negotiations between the Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation and Armenia were held in Samarkand. The ministers underlined the necessity to normalize relations between Baku and Yerevan.

The diplomats met in Uzbekistan's capital on the sidelines of the CIS Ministerial Council.
During the talks, Sergey Lavrov and Ararat Mirzoyan discussed Russian-Armenian relations and issues related to the situation in the region.
"The importance of intensifying efforts on all tracks of the Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization was outlined in accordance with the agreements reached by the heads of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan in 2020-2022,"

In addition, the ministers agreed to continue to maintain diplomatic contacts.
Putin-Pashinyan telephone conversation
A week ago, negotiations were held by the presidents of the Russian Federation and Armenia. During a telephone conversation, Vladimir Putin discussed with Nikol Pashinyan the importance of the fulfilling all the trilateral statements of the heads of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the importance of unblocking and restoring transport links and communications. The leaders also discussed the peace agreement.
