Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin took part in the farewell ceremony for Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. He led the Russian delegation at the mourning events.
According to the State Duma press service, Volodin conveyed a message from Russian leader Vladimir Putin to Iran. It says that Russia mourns with Iran.
The letter also says that the bright memory of Raisi will be preserved. Putin expressed confidence that Iran will overcome all trials and continue moving towards strengthening its sovereignty.
Death of the President of Iran
Let us remind you that on May 19, a helicopter carrying Ebrahim Raisi, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, and other officials crashed in a mountainous area in the province of East Azerbaijan.
The next day, information about the President's death was confirmed by the Iranian Vice-President. Five days of mourning have been declared in the country.
