The Cabinet of Ministers of Georgia issued a resolution to write off tuition debts for 27 thousand students. The Georgian Minister of Education, Science, and Youth, Giorgi Amilakhvari, spoke about this.

According to him, the total amount of student debt was about 30 million lari. Due to debt, students had to suspend their studies.

"They have been given the opportunity to restore their status and continue their studies if they wish",

 Giorgi Amilakhvari said.

The Minister also said that this academic year the number of scholarship recipients had been doubled, as well as the amount of government payments. To date, 5 thousand students across the country have received a scholarship of 300 lari.
