There had been an armed conflict on the border between Russia and Abkhazia on June 23.
The shooting took place at the Psou checkpoint and security forces are searching for the suspects.
Those involved were citizens of Abkhazia. One person is dead and several others wounded following a shootout in Abkhazia. A 17-year old girl is among the wounded.
