Netanyahu-Rubio talks begin in Israel

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held talks in Jerusalem to examine the aftermath of an Israeli strike in Qatar.

The two officials had a three-hour meeting on Monday, after which they held a joint news conference.

The U.S. State Department said Rubio in Israel will continue coordination on ending the war in Gaza and securing the release of all hostages.

Rubio is also scheduled to meet Israeli President Isaac Herzo, Foreign Minister Gideon Saar and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer. During his visit, Rubio will also meet with families of hostages still held by Hamas.
