Germany recalls ambassador from Georgia for consultations

The German Foreign Ministry announced the recall of Ambassador Peter Fischer from Tbilisi for consultations.

"For many months, the Georgian leadership has been agitating against the EU, Germany and also German Ambassador Fischer personally. Therefore, the decision was made to recall Peter Fischer for consultations on further action",

Germany's Foreign Ministry reported.

Georgian authorities have repeatedly accused the diplomat of interfering in domestic affairs and supporting radical elements, prompting Fischer's summons to the Georgian Foreign Ministry on September 24.
