Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with newly appointed Russian Ambassador Sergey Vershinin to discuss current matters in bilateral relations, the Russian Embassy in Türkiye reported.
"Erdoğan congratulated Vershinin on his assumption of office and wished him success in his work. During the conversation, they discussed current issues of Russian-Turkish cooperation",
the embassy said.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties between Russia and Türkiye.
