The economic significance of the Zangezur Corridor was discussed by Elchin Amirbekov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Amirbekov noted the project's importance both for relations between Baku and Yerevan and for communications between Asia and Europe.
Elchin Amirbekov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan, spoke about the importance of the Zangezur Corridor for the region's economy, as well as for Baku-Yerevan normalization.
Amirbekov noted that the Zangezur Corridor will connect Azerbaijan and Armenia for the first time in 30 years and will also become one of the routes between Europe and Asia.
"The Zangezur Corridor will achieve several goals at once. First, it will connect the main part of Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan. This route will also connect Armenia and Azerbaijan after three decades of disruption. Furthermore, it will become one of the alternative routes from Asia to Europe,”
