Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu in Moscow on September 25 to discuss the current state of the organization.
The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that the talks focused on the OSCE's present situation and foundational principles.
At the beginning of the talks, Lavrov expressed support for efforts to preserve the OSCE's fundamental principles.
"We support your efforts to maintain the organization on the basis of the principles on which it was founded, and I hope we can now discuss ideas regarding this. It would be interesting to know how preparations are progressing for the ministerial meeting",
the Russian Foreign Minister said.
The OSCE Ministerial Council is scheduled to take place in Vienna this December.
