During discussions with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked Washington to pressure Cairo, which Israeli authorities believe is strengthening its position in the Sinai Peninsula, Axios reports.
Netanyahu informed Rubio of Egypt's military actions, including extending runways and constructing bunkers capable of storing missiles, which violate the terms of the 1979 peace treaty between the two nations.
Israeli officials noted that Egypt has not commented on these steps.
