Remittances from Russia to Georgia declined by 23% during the first three quarters of 2025, according to National Bank of Georgia data.
Total transfers from Russia amounted to $344.3 million during this nine-month period.
Overall volume of transfers to Georgia reached $2.69 billion from January through September, representing a 6.4% increase year-on-year.
Transfers from the USA grew by 20%, while Italian remittances rose by 8.4% during the same period.
This continues a trend from last year when total remittances fell by 19% (driven by a nearly threefold decrease from Russia), following a 6.8% decline in 2023, though remittances had nearly doubled in 2022 compared to 2021.
