Pakistan, Afghanistan agree to 48-hour ceasefire

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced a 48-hour ceasefire with Afghanistan. The agreement took effect at 6:00 PM local time.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced a temporary ceasefire with the Taliban. The ceasefire will remain in effect for the next 48 hours, the Foreign Ministry's press service reports.

"The Pakistani government and the Afghan Taliban regime, by mutual consent of both sides, agreed to a temporary ceasefire for the next 48 hours, starting at 6:00 PM today (4:00 PM Moscow time), at the request of the Taliban,”

- the Pakistani Foreign Ministry informed.
